KeyMission Series Introduce New Ways of Experiencing Adventures

TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of its series of KeyMission action and wearable cameras, designed to help users share their missions, from the everyday to the extreme, and the stories behind them. Earlier this year, Nikon announced the KeyMission 360 - a tough, wearable action camera capable of recording true 360° video in 4K UHD. With video increasingly becoming the center of everyday communications, the KeyMission action cameras build on Nikon's technical excellence in optical and image-processing technologies. Today, Nikon unveils two more models in its action series, the KeyMission 170 and the KeyMission 80.

The flagship KeyMission 360 records seamless 360° video in 4K UHD format, moving action camera users a step closer toward virtual reality content, and changing the way people capture and share their experiences.

The KeyMission 170, which is shockproof and waterproof, captures dynamic 170° wide-angle 4K UHD videos and vivid images. With intuitive interfaces and simple controls, even first-time action camera users can record adventures effortlessly. Versatile shooting modes like Add Slow Motion, Superlapse Movie and Time-lapse Movie are available for creating dramatic scenes of any adventure.

The ultra-slim KeyMission 80 is a tough wearable camera designed for quick shooting of stills and movies, enabling users to record every moment of their experiences as it happens. Featuring an exclusively designed small NIKKOR lens, this compact camera enables capture of high-quality images. It is equipped with a second camera with 4.9 million effective pixels and an LCD monitor for easy selfies.

The SnapBridge 360/170 app is exclusive to KeyMission 360 and KeyMission 170, and enables camera's remote shooting and movie editing, while the KeyMission 80 supports the SnapBridge app. Both SnapBridge 360/170 app and SnapBridge app allow the camera to be constantly connected to a smart device, so that photos taken with the camera can be automatically transferred to a smart device.

At the same time, Nikon has introduced a wide range of optional mounts and accessories designed to push the limits of the cameras across diverse activities. For hands-free shooting, the Vented Helmet Strap Mount, Chest Mount and Surfboard Mount ensure every moment is captured. Also the Handy Grip is available to prevent the user's body from being caught in the frame during handheld shooting. These versatile mounts and accessories will take the cameras along the toughest roads to scale the highest peaks.

• *1While the resolution of recorded data is 4K UHD (3840 x 2160), the resolution at which movies are displayed with playback is dependent upon factors such as the display device used and the display magnification ratio.
• *2There are parts of the shooting/recording range that cannot be captured underwater because images are magnified more than they are on land. Therefore, full 360° content cannot be captured underwater. When the underwater lens protectors are attached, the protectors are reflected in images as black borders or bands. The camera may be unable to capture subjects positioned 60 cm (2 ft) or closer to the top, bottom, or either side of the camera because the subjects are not included in the angle of view (i.e., the area visible in the frame). Under some shooting conditions, the boundaries of the composited areas may be misaligned.

   Further, when the WP-AA1 Waterproof Case*⁷ (available separately) is used, the camera is waterproof to depths of 40 m/131 ft
